How James H. Brown and Associates Supports the Community

Accidents and serious injuries affect everyone. From friends and families to entire communities, a life-altering injury’s effects can be felt well beyond the scene of the accident. Further, when you or a loved one have suffered serious injuries in an accident, the support you receive from the community will be vital to managing your long-term needs and navigating the road to recovery.

James H. Brown and Associates understand firsthand the importance of support after a serious injury. That’s why we proudly contribute to numerous organizations across Alberta that share our mission to provide support to victims of serious injuries. Read on to learn more about the organizations we support below.

Spinal Cord Injury Alberta

Spinal Cord Injury Alberta proudly works to empower persons with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities, helping them achieve independence and full community participation. With offices across both Northern and Southern Alberta, SCI-AB uses a “peers helping peers” approach to help individuals and their families adjust to life after a serious injury through Community Development, Active Living, Peer Partnership, and Information Services programs.

Additionally, their Neuro Rehabilitation Centre in Calgary helps individuals with spinal cord injury and other physical disabilities achieve optimal health and quality of life through active living.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving

MADD Canada is a charitable, volunteer-driven organization with a mission to end impaired driving and support accident victims and their families. Through Victim and Survivor Services, Youth Services, Awareness/Education, Public Policy campaigns, and numerous other programs and mandates, MADD supports victims of impaired driving across Canada through every stage of recovery.

Numerous members of James H. Brown’s legal team have volunteered with and contributed to MADD Canada over the years. Most recently, Richard J. Mallett received the organization’s 15 Year Service for outstanding contributions within the community.

STARS

Each day, the STARS air ambulance takes care of some of the most critical patients in Western Canada. Providing emergency services for rural Albertans, striving to provide effective, life-saving care in remote and inaccessible locations. With more than 35 years of service under its belt, STARS serves rural communities through its air ambulance services, emergency medical communications centre, the STARS Vigilant Centre, and numerous education and training programs.

University Hospital Foundation

The University Hospital Foundation (UHF) raises funds to advance patient care, research, and innovation at the University of Alberta Hospital, as well as the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute and the Kaye Edmonton Clinic. Additionally, UHF supports research initiatives at the University of Alberta and care in the community through Alberta Health Services. Their support to the province’s healthcare teams is invaluable, helping Albertan health workers find solutions to seemingly insurmountable challenges and provide world-class patient care and support.

Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation

Established in 1984, the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation funds education, research, and facility enhancements for numerous specialized health centres in Edmonton, including the Royal Alexandra Hospital campus, the Lois Hole Hospital for Women, the CK Hui Heart Centre, the Orthopedic Surgery Centre, and the Eye Institute of Alberta.
