Richard J. Mallett
Prior to joining James H. Brown and Associates in 1999, Mr. Mallett worked for many years as an insurance defence lawyer at a large Edmonton law firm. Mr. Mallett now acts exclusively for victims of injustice and has handled many multi-million catastrophic injury cases including those involving spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, fatalities, and other serious cases. Mr. Mallett is the head of our class action team and has been involved in class action cases including the Volkswagen $1 Billion class action case, the largest class action settlement in Canada.
Mr. Mallett has successfully concluded major cases including semi-truck and other truck litigation and recovered millions of dollars for injury victims of semi and heavy truck collisions. Mr. Mallett is a member of the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys.
Mr. Mallett is a past President of the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association and a member of the American Association for Justice. He is a member of the Law Societies of Alberta and British Columbia and is a member of the bar in the Northwest Territories and Yukon.
Mr. Mallett is involved in numerous community organizations including Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). For his involvement with MADD he recently received their 15 Year Service Award.
