Prior to joining James H. Brown & Associates in 2003, Mr. Rusinko spent several years acting as defence counsel for insurance companies. Today, he credits his proven record of success to his experience “on the other side of the fence,” gaining valuable insight into insurance companies’ legal practices and tactics.

Mr. Rusinko has been involved in many major injury settlements, including a recent $4.7 million brain injury settlement. Additionally, he has concluded a $3.9 million drunk driving lawsuit, a $1.3 million wrongful death settlement after a logging truck accident, and numerous cases involving jet boats, watercraft, and insurance disability policy denials.

He has appeared in the Alberta Court of Appeal, Court of King’s Bench, Provincial Court, and the Federal Court of Canada. Mr. Rusinko has also been involved in cases in British Columbia, the Northwest Territories, and Nunavut. He is an active member of the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association.

Mr. Rusinko is married with three children. Away from work, he is an active member of the American Saddlebred Association.
